Why did you pick this product vs others?:Bought this model because my current locks are all Kwikset, making rekeying easy. Also I now have a no-key-needed vehicle (card in my wallet). Now, I don't have to carry a house key either. I like the look of the touch pad models, but I use one frequently and find that it's harder to operate in the dark. It's especially hard to find the first number, because the lock is dark until you press on the pad - "oops, wrong number again!" This lock is between my garage and utility room. Don't care whether it matches the rest of my door hardware exactly. Easy to install, even easier to program and it has many features I don't need (like automatic locking and 25 user codes), but you may find them useful. One note on rekeying the lock. Kwikset's instructions are good, except I've never been able to get the rekeying tool into the rekeying slot as far as the instructions indicate. So, regardless of whether that tool is in as far as instructed, if you have the original key in the right position and, at the appropriate step in the instructions you can remove the old key, your ready to proceed with the new key. Comment on some of the negative reviews: The bolt and the striker plate on the door handle have to position this electronic deadbolt lock and striker plate so they engage smoothly, with little to no drag. I don't think this battery-powered lock would last long term in a situation where the bolt has to fight its way into and out of the striker opening. Too high a load; something will eventually fry. In my case, I corrected just that situation before installation (found a stripped and cracked screw hole in the door frame). Fixing that takes a small amount of know-how but, if you're replacing a smooth-operating deadbolt, this is an easy task.

Very satisfiedI have a Kennel facility and have been using the quickset Smart code door levers and decided on one of my doors that’s a primary to install the code deadbolt version in conjunction with the code lever surprisingly both are able to be used on the door with factory spacing between the holes for the deadbolt and holes for the door knob highly recommend Will definitely do this on more doorsInstallation was very easy set up was very easy and it is very well-made. I do not use the autolock feature on the deadbolt, but I do on my lever, but when I use the quickset button to lock the door on the outside, it bolts flawlessly. Works great weight is standard but well built.

I am very impressed with this lock. I know kwickset are supposedly garbage licks but this is great for my needs.I put this on a tiny house door so we could easily access it without a key. Installation took maybe 20 minutes and that includes rekeying it to my old key.It works great and I am thinking of getting another for my shed.The rekeying part was really cool and took a few minutes. Only because I could not believe how easy it was.

Needed a way for cat sitters to get in the house without having to get them a physical key. This fit the bill. You can program up to 25 unique permanent codes (and 5 temporary ones). I was able to rekey to match my prior Kwikset deadbolt so I don't have to replace the physical keys that my family uses. Note that you should actually read the instructions for installation, as there are a couple of small nuances that differ from installing a traditional deadbolt (if you make assumptions you'll be unscrewing and doing over). Will see how durable the unit is over time, the casing does feel a bit flimsy. Also I purchased the color black and in my dimly lit entryway it is VERY difficult to see if the latch is in the closed position. Solved that by putting a bit of bright red electrical tape on the turn handle.

I think this is my favorite keypad deadbolt I have bought to date. It’s the only one that you can’t out-pace the buttons! Finally, a deadbolt you can unlock as fast as an iPhone! It’s also slimmer than some units I’ve used. And you don’t have to press the “Kwikset” button after entering the code for it to unlock. Another improvement over older models.

These are great 👍I like the first one so much I bought another one for the back door. Very easy to install and simple operation just exactly what we wanted. I only had one issue with it not working and it was just a bad battery that I installed so totally my fault put new batteries in it and it's worked great since

Easy to swap out and rekey. Purchased this to rekey new house. Does not come with batteries. Looks great and really convenient not having to carry keys.

This lock worked for about 10 months. Then, it started locking and unlocking on its own constantly. I have been locked out of my house more than once because the lock became unresponsive. Yes, it has it had power. From time to time the keypad lights up but it doesn't do anything until I lock and unlock it from the inside. I called the manufacturer and was asked about type of batteries in the lock. Apparently, Amazon Alkaline batteries are NOT supposed to be used? So, why not say that in the installation instructions and packaging. I was told to hang up and call support back when I purchase new better batterie$. This lock can tell if you are using the bunny batteries or Amazon ones. I just wish they used the same technology to make it lock and unlock when I need it to. Will revise this review pending support response.
