Great Substrate for Aquascaping
I recently used the Aqua Natural Sugar White Sand Substrate for my 20-gallon tank, which houses guppies and neon tetras, and I’m really pleased with how it has transformed the look of my aquarium. The sand has given my tank a bright, clean, and natural aesthetic, but there are a few things to consider if you want to use live plants in the future.Pros:Beautiful, Natural Look: The white sand creates a stunning, clean look that makes my fish pop, and it also enhances the colors of my fake plants. It’s the perfect backdrop for a vibrant, lively aquarium, giving it a natural and fresh feel.Gentle for Fish: The fine, smooth texture of the sand is ideal for my guppies and neon tetras. It’s soft on their delicate fins, and they enjoy exploring the bottom of the tank. There’s no risk of injury, which is great for my active swimmers.Easy Setup: The sand was super easy to rinse and install. It didn’t cloud the water, and it settled down quickly without leaving debris in the tank. The tank was crystal clear and ready for use right away.Versatile for Different Setups: Whether you're using fake plants, as I do, or planning to use live plants, this sand works well for a variety of setups. It’s also suitable for vivariums and terrariums, making it a versatile option.Cons:The 10lb bag wasn’t quite enough for a 20-gallon tank if I wanted to add live plants. The substrate is not deep enough on its own to provide adequate support for plant roots, so if you’re planning on adding live plants, I’d recommend adding some gravel on top for extra depth and structure. This will give your plants more room to root and grow properly. It’s a simple fix, but just something to keep in mind.Overall Verdict:The Aqua Natural Sugar White Sand is a great substrate for anyone looking to create a beautiful, natural-looking tank. It’s perfect for fish and fake plants and provides a bright, clean aesthetic. However, if you’re planning to add live plants, be sure to supplement with gravel to give your plants the necessary foundation for healthy growth. Overall, I highly recommend this sand for its beauty, ease of use, and versatility, but just be mindful of the depth needed for live plant setups!

Works amazing, Minimal cloudiness
This sand has virtually no cloudiness. The first time I put it in my tank after washing it, there was cloudiness but it went away in less than 5min. I have bubble bars in my tank and the sand doesn’t get stirred up by them or the movement of my axolotl. It stays clean for a long time and is very easy to clean when the time come. Definitely recommend this sand

Sparkling!!!!!
I was hesitant at first to get white sand, but I wanted the contrast of the aqua soil in dark and the sand in light for the tank, I am so glad I did! I do a small water change every day (at min 1.5g - 2g) and a 50% on the weekends, but even with all the cleaning with the overstock it could look horrible by the end of the day....it doesnt! The flow in the tank and the vacuming of the sand and aqua soil keep it looking pristine! The white sparkles no matter what color I put the light at!!! Happy I went with this color and not the beige for this particular tank.

Very good quality!!!
I ordered two bags for my 16 gallon tank and it turned out perfect quantity. It states that it is 100% natural so I feel good knowing my fish has natural sand in their home.I rinsed it several times before use and it cleared up very quickly. It doesn't cloud the water once I've added water on top of it in my new setup. I was also careful when pouring the water in. I used a plastic bag and laid it on the surface of the water and added the water slowly on top of the bag.The texture of the sand is very smooth. Once in the water, they look like off-white granules of sugar. Very clean looking and it makes my fish tank decors pop! Love it!!!

Just needs a quick rinse
One quick rinse in a bucket and this stuff was ready to be placed. I added this on top of another sand substrate and i like this kind way better. It's not very dense, so my snails and other bottom feeders are able to dig thru it easily. It also allows more light penetration, which is great for all my plants. It's just heavy enough that it doesn't get vacuumed up too much when cleaning the tank. Placing plants and root tab fertilizers was also much easier. Wish I had started my whole tank with this sand. Will be buying more, maybe i can slowly replace all the sand in my tank with this.

Perfect for making dark fish stand out!
Works well with my “white” tank that I have a betta, Nerite snails, and a few blue dream neocardinia shrimp in. The color really makes the blue fish/shrimp pop! It is a bit lightweight, so the filter current can cause a “dip” in the sand (see second picture), but it’s fine! It’s absolutely perfect!
